Workshop on Healthy Backyards/Sustainable Landscaping

To Follow Service, Sunday, Sept. 29

Changing our landscaping practices may be the easiest—and yet very effective—thing we can do to fight climate change, support our local ecosystem and keep our children and pets safe. To help us learn how to do that, the Climate Justice Team will present a workshop Sunday, Sept. 29 after the service, starting about 11:45 and running until about 1 pm in the Main Hall. Children are welcome to play in the hall as they did at a recent service.

The panel will include a landscaper who does it all with batteries (and will be bringing some of his equipment), a representative from ReWild Long Island, and Kevin J. Kelley, an environmental journalist who will speak about the dangers of lawn pesticides. Non-UUFH members are invited as well. Bring your questions and concerns.
